Jewelry Story Robbery Suspects Arrested
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (November 5, 2015) – On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, Orange County Sheriff’s Department investigators arrested Devan Howard, 18, Inglewood and Levon Michael Tippit, 23, Inglewood, in connection with the jewelry store robbery that occurred two weeks ago at the Shops at Mission Viejo. Howard and Tippit were arrested at their residence during execution of search warrants.
On October 21, 2015, an armed robbery occurred at the Fredric H. Rubel jewelry store inside The Shops at Mission Viejo. At least one of the four suspects was armed with a handgun as the suspects forcibly stole several watches and jewelry items from inside the glass display cases. Much of the stolen jewelry was later discarded by the suspects on the side of the 405 freeway approximately 30 minutes after the robbery. Witnesses indicated the jewelry was thrown from a moving vehicle travelling northbound on the 405 freeway. Continue reading
