For visitors to San Juan Capistrano’s Greek Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, the day’s first celebration may not occur in the seaside mission town but at the Irvine Metrolink Station. That’s where OCTA is holding a free Greek Festival kickoff at 9 a.m. to build excitement about the event and promote the use of Metrolink.
Such promotions are particularly important to San Juan Capistrano, where freeway access has been affected by Caltrans’ I-5/Ortega Highway Interchange Improvement Project. For many reasons, Metrolink is the most convenient way to travel to the festival for riders from as far away as L.A. Union Station and San Bernardino.
