The holiday’s are all about embracing new friends and catching up with familiar faces. But for families touched by Alzheimer’s, the holiday can be a challenging time of year. Since 1982, Alzheimer’s Orange County (AOC), formerly known as the Alzheimer’s Association, has been a community resource and an ally to families afflicted by the disease. Currently 85,000+ Orange County residents are currently living with Alzheimer’s! This disease is the fourth-leading cause of death locally.
While its name has changed, its vision for eradicating Alzheimer’s remains the same. Now an independent organization, the nonprofit is better able to serve Orange County and has big plans for 2016.
