Could eight armed robberies of Trader Joe’s stores in Los Angeles and Orange Counties be related? That is what law enforcement investigators are asking after in Long Beach, Los Angeles — including the San Fernando Valley, Irvine and Culver City were all robbed in similar fashion, according to the O.C. Register.

Irvine, Calif. (March 28, 2018) – The suspect in an Anaheim Police Department officer involved shooting Tuesday night has been identified as Kenneth John Yamashita-Magarro, 24. Magarro has two no-bail felony warrants in Orange County for drug-related crimes and is on formal probation.
On Tuesday at around 10 p.m., an Anaheim Police Department helicopter was following a black Nissan Altima that was driving erratically and in excess of 100 miles per hour on I-405. The helicopter requested units to respond. Prior to those units arriving, the vehicle crashed on I-405 at Jamboree, near the Von Karman overpass. Willy San, a 26-year-old Long Beach man, pleaded guilty on Thursday and was immediately sentenced to 14 years in prison for 14 burglaries and two attempted break-ins from late April through May 2016 in Irvine’s Woodbury neighborhood, according to the O.C. Register.
San’s first burglary that he was charged with was committed on April 28, 2016, and the final break-in was on May 27, 2016. San also accepted sentencing enhancements for aggravated white-collar crime that ranged between $100,000 to $500,000. Continue reading
Irvine Police Department Seeks Suspect in Follow-Home Robbery
Irvine, Calif. (March 1, 2018) – The Irvine Police Department is seeking a suspect and his associate in a robbery that occurred Wednesday night in Irvine.
On Wednesday, February 28, at approximately 6:20 p.m., a female victim was approached as she attempted to open the front door of her residence off Jamboree Road and Champion Way. The suspect ripped a necklace off her neck and fled. The victim had previously been shopping in Artesia, where she saw the suspect, who was accompanied by a female. Carjacking in Irvine Occurs During Pursuit
Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 26, 2018) – A female Irvine resident was the victim of a carjacking during a pursuit initiated outside of the City on Monday.
On Monday evening, the Santa Ana Police Department informed the Irvine Police Department of a pursuit in which a suspect was driving in and out of Irvine. At approximately 5:40 p.m., the suspect came to a dead end on Rosa Drew. At that time, a female Irvine resident was backing up her black Audi SUV. Irvine Woman Dies After Being Struck by Car
Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2018) – An Irvine woman who was walking in the Woodbridge neighborhood Sunday night died after being struck by a car. Her adult son was also injured.
At 10:18 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the area of Blue Lake South and Springacre, where they discovered the pedestrians, who had been hit by the vehicle. Irvine Police Department Arrests Suspect in Purse Snatching
Irvine, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2018) – Irvine Police Department detectives on Thursday arrested the suspect in a purse snatching that turned violent a week before.
Jennifer Nicole Burner, 34, was arrested in Santa Ana, where she resides. Irvine Police Department detectives identified Burner thanks to an anonymous tip from the public that came in after media coverage highlighting the crime. Continue reading
