Irvine Mayor Endorses O’Malley for Irvine City Council
Irvine Mayor Don Wagner endorses Transportation Commissioner Carrie O’Malley in campaign for Irvine City Council. Calls her the right choice for Irvine’s future.
(Irvine, CA)- Today, Irvine Mayor Don Wagner officially announced his endorsement of Transportation Commissioner Carrie O’Malley in her campaign for Irvine City Council. O’Malley, an expert in local and state-wide public policy, has received overwhelming support in her bid for the Irvine City Council including Assemblyman Steven Choi, Congresswoman Mimi Walters, Senator Patricia “Pat” Bates, and Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett.
“Carrie is the right choice for Irvine’s future,” Mayor Wagner said. “Carrie is a public policy expert, a long-time Irvine homeowner, and is committed to keeping Irvine safe. I know Carrie will do an excellent job when she is elected to the Irvine City Council.”

Mayor Don Wagner was elected Mayor of Irvine in 2016 after serving in the California State Assembly for six years. A practicing attorney, Mayor Wagner and his wife Megan first moved to Irvine in 1991 where they raised three children.
An active Irvine community member and resident for twenty years, O’Malley is an appointed Commissioner and Vice Chair on the Irvine Transportation Commission, Chair of the Irvine Taxpayers Association, and Vice President of the Board of Directors of her Homeowners’ Association in Northpark, where she is an original homeowner. She and her husband, John, have been married for nearly two decades and enjoy spending family time with their two teenage children, Shannon and Jack. In her free time, O’Malley enjoys attending her children’s baseball and basketball games, long-distance running on Irvine’s beautiful trails, and contributing her time and talents to helping the residents of Irvine.
