Meghan Breanna Alt, 27, of Irvine, a former Mrs. Orange County, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and lewd acts with a minor younger than 14 and was immediately sentenced to 300 days in jail, according to the OCDA.
Alt was sentenced to three years of probation and she was also ordered to participate in a child abuser’s treatment program and do 15 days of community service with Caltrans.
Because Alt accepted a plea deal, two felony counts of lewd acts with a minor younger than 14 were dismissed.
At the time of the crime, the defendant was a church youth volunteer at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente and Irvine, and had access to children.
Between Jan. 1, 2015, and Oct. 7, 2015, Alt possessed photographs of her relative, 4-year-old Jane Doe, in sexually explicit poses.
The defendant used her cell phone to distribute the photos of Jane Doe to a U.S. Marine stationed in Southern California in exchange for gifts.
On Oct. 7, 2015, Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force (OCCETF) investigators conducted a traffic stop on Alt as she was driving in San Diego County and arrested her.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and OCCETF investigated this case after receiving information about the crime from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
Alt also was suspected of using unspecified online advertising services to meet clients that she sometimes had sex with, for money, with her children allegedly present.
Not too long ago, in 2014, Alt won the Mrs. Orange County pageant. She also competed in the Mrs. California contest in June of 2014. Her life went off the tracks in 2015 and at this point is completely derailed.
Did she lose custody of her children??
That was not reported. Typically the government will try to place the kids with relatives.
