A man in his 30s was wounded Monday night in an California Highway Patrol officer-involved shooting on the Interstate 5 near Irvine, authorities said. The incident closed all lanes of the southbound 5 in Irvine, according to the O.C. Register.
California Highway Patrol said the shooting happened on the 5 Freeway near Highway 133 at about 6:55 p.m.
The CHP had responded to a call about a pedestrian on the freeway. When the CHP officers arrived at the scene shots were fired, according to ABC News.
