Robert Tana, 42, of Garden Grove was wanted by the Irvine Police Department after he stayed overnight at an Irvine home, on March 23, 2016, and, at approximately 4 a.m., he allegedly entered a minor teen girl’s room, while she was sleeping, and he assaulted her with an intent to commit a sexual act. Fortunately the victim was able to fight him off.
The suspect left the room and the crime was reported to IPD. The case was investigated and Tana was ultimately identified as the suspect. The case was submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for criminal charges, and a warrant was issued for Tana’s arrest.
Tana has since turned himself in at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach, according to Farrah Emami of the Irvine Police Department, as reported by the Fountain Valley Patch. The Irvine Police had issued a $1 million warrant for his arrest.
Tana is 5’9″, 160lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. He drives a black, 4-door, 2015 Cadillac sedan with license plate number 7MMB385. He is known to frequent the Huntington Beach and Garden Grove areas.
