WHY: Irvine Unified School District (IUSD) is among the fastest-growing school districts in the U.S., with enrollment projected to grow to 40,000 by 2020. Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) is an organization that adds teachers and instructional assistants to reduce class size in IUSD. IPSF helps IUSD by raising funds for essential educational programs and uniting the community in support of educational excellence. IPSF Enrichment Day provides children with fun, hands-on classes that teach subjects that may not be offered in regular classrooms. The purpose is to offer students an educational and exciting alternative to the holiday off from school, and to spark their interest in careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
