Youth Pastor Arrested for Lewd Acts with a Child
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (December 10, 2015) – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigators arrested Brandon McDade, 30, Mission Viejo, on charges related to inappropriate conduct with children. McDade was arrested after two days of investigation following the SVU being made aware of the allegations.
On Monday, December 7, 2015, Sheriff’s investigators were contacted after patrol deputies took a report of allegations against McDade while he worked as the youth pastor at Grace Hills Church in the City of Aliso Viejo. During the course of the investigation, several other victims were contacted, each indicating they had engaged in inappropriate conduct with McDade over a two year period while he was employed as the youth pastor at Grace Hills Church. There have been several alleged incidents of lewd and inappropriate conduct, several of which have occurred on the church property.
The teenage victims all attended Grace Hills Church and were part of the youth group when the lewd acts occurred. McDade has been employed by the church for approximately six years. Based on the allegations, McDade’s leadership role and access to children, investigators believe there are additional victims.
McDade was arrested for lewd and lascivious acts with a child and child annoyance. He was booked into Orange County Jail and is being held on $20K bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, December 11, 2015.
