Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) has arrested a man for sexual assault. Matthew Joseph Hamm, 27, was arrested on charges of rape, assault, and domestic violence.
In April 2014, Hamm was involved in a dating relationship with an adult female. On at least one occasion, the suspect physically and sexually assaulted the victim.
IPD investigated this case and located the suspect working at a camp near the City of Fairfax. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was working as a cook at a Girl Scout camp, but was living in separate staff living quarters.
The Marin County Sheriff assisted with the arrest and booking of Hamm. He is being transported from Marin County and will be booked at the Orange County Jail.
