IRVINE, Calif.— May 28, 2015— The Irvine Chamber of Commerce today announced the two inaugural winners of the John Colvin Memorial Scholarship: Donna Raymundo of Northwood High School and Jana Zweigoron of King’s Academy High School. The John Colvin Memorial Scholarship remembers and celebrates John Greg Colvin, a long-time Orange County resident and key Chamber leader who was killed June 17, 2014 when his bicycle was struck by a car along Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. The scholarships were presented at the World Trade Week Breakfast & Forum recently held at the Irvine Hilton.
Raymundo is a senior at Northwood High School in Irvine, Calif., and will be attending Chapman University in the fall to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Sciences. She currently holds a 4.3 GPA and has aspirations to earn a Ph.D. in physical therapy and work with professional or college athletes in aiding and rehabilitating sports-related injuries.
