IRVINE, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) will conduct increased driving under the influence (DUI) enforcement on New Year’s Eve as part of the department’s continued commitment to reducing injury and deaths caused by alcohol and drug-impaired drivers.
These DUI saturation patrols will be conducted in marked patrol vehicles tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 31. 2014, using grant funding awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
IPD publicizes DUI enforcement to deter impaired drivers, encourage the use of sober designated drivers, and bring increased awareness to the consequences of impaired driving.
