PACIFICA HOTELS RAISES $100K FOR PRETEND CITY CHILDREN’S MUSEUM WITH FIRST ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
IRVINE, CA (October 1, 2014) – Pacifica Hotels is proud to announce the success of their 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Pretend City Children’s Museum, which raised over $100,000 on Wednesday, September 24. The tournament was held at the Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, CA, a challenging, Tom Fazio designed public golf course, owned and operated by the Irvine Company®.
120 players took to the fairways for their shot at a trophy and the Million Dollar Hole-in-One. The day also included putting, closest to the pin, and longest drive contests as well as a helicopter ball drop and silent auction.
“We were very pleased to reach our goal with this inaugural fundraising event,” said Pacifica Hotels’ President Matt Marquis. “Pretend City provides an invaluable service to the youth of Irvine and neighboring communities, and we are thrilled that so many businesses and individuals came together to contribute to its longevity and well-being. Pretend City Children’s Museum features a small, interconnected city designed to “build better brains” through purposeful play, hands-on learning experiences, role playing, and educational programming. Pretend City encourages whole body learning experiences and empowers children and their grown-ups to meaningfully connect with and expand their world.
