OUTSTANDING HONOREES ANNOUNCED FOR 29TH ANNUAL NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY ORANGE COUNTY
Esteemed Individuals and Organizations Recognized for Philanthropic Efforts in the OC Community
IRVINE, Calif. – National Philanthropy Day Orange County proudly announced the 2014 Outstanding Honorees. The honorees include organizations and community members selected because of the deep impact of their volunteer efforts, charity donations and commitment to the betterment of Orange County. They will be honored at the 29th Annual Awards Luncheon Thursday, November 20th at the Hotel Irvine Jamboree Center.
This annual event is produced annually by the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is one of the most prominent philanthropic recognition events in Orange County. Since its inception nearly 30 years ago, more than 1,000 honorees have been recognized. Founded by Doug Freeman and through his hard work, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed Nov. 15 as National Philanthropy Day in 1986.
“The National Philanthropy Awards Luncheon celebrates the philanthropic efforts of Orange County’s finest individuals and organizations,” said Victoria Collins, Honorary Chair of National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon. “Established almost three decades ago by our visionary friend Doug, National Philanthropy Day pays tribute to recognize those that have had such a profound and important impact on our society.”
The 2014 National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Honorees include:

· Catherine Klein Sorenson, Outstanding Philanthropist
· MOST Brand Development + Advertising, Outstanding Corporation or Business (Small)
· Rutan & Tucker, LLP, Outstanding Corporation or Business (Medium)
· Disneyland Resort, Anaheim Ducks, Angels Baseball (ACT Anaheim), Outstanding Corporation or Business (Large)
· Future in Humanity, Outstanding Youth or Youth Group
· Ralph B. Linzmeier, Jr., Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
· Je’net Kreitner, Grandma’s House of Hope, Outstanding Founder
· Building Block Foundation Fund, Outstanding Philanthropic Group
In celebration of this year’s theme, “Giving Is Always in Season,” National Philanthropy Day Orange County believes that philanthropy benefits not only the local community but also enriches and empowers the global community.
