IRVINE, CA (February 28, 2014): Irvine Meals on Wheels will celebrate March for Meals Community Champions Week from March 17-21, 2014. As part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness and support for senior nutrition services, Irvine city officials will participate in the March for Meals by delivering meals during that week to homebound senior citizens in Irvine.
The City of Irvine invites you to show your support and join Irvine Meals on Wheels in celebrating March for Meals. Over 50,000 meals are delivered to homebound seniors in Irvine each year. Join the campaign by learning more about Irvine Meals on Wheels, making a donation or volunteering to package and deliver hot, nutritious meals to Irvine seniors. Volunteers work directly with the Irvine Meals on Wheels program and provide a vital service to older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between the 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
