A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Based on the novel by Charles Dickens and adapted and directed as devised theatre by Annie Loui, this moves far beyond the usual “feel good” holiday cheer to ask questions about the indecencies and plutocratic impulses of a society that rely on the occasional beneficent, good-hearted (and wealthy) individual to aid those on the margins of society.
Note: This is presented as devised theatre, meaning it is constructed with the active participation of performers and designers around imagery and text taken from Dickens’ classic story. It was created in the devised theatre style of Counter-Balance Theater – www.counter-balancetheater.com
Tickets: $11-$15 for either show. Purchase through the Arts Box Office (949) 824-2787 or at www.arts.uci.edu/tickets.
