A search is under way for a burglary suspect who targeted two residences in Irvine. Police hope composite sketches of the suspect will lead to his capture, according to KABC.
The most recent incident happened on September 2, in the 100 block of Berkeley Avenue, according to Irvine police. The man entered the home through an unlocked window. He was confronted by a resident and fled, police said in a statement, according to KTLA.
Police believe the same man may also be connected to a similar Aug. 8 incident in which officers responded to a call of a suspicious man seen entering an unoccupied residence in the nearby 500 block of Stanford Court. An arriving officer was involved in a foot pursuit of a man seen leaving the location but was unable to capture him, according to the O.C. Register.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Asian man, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He has black, well-groomed hair and brown eyes, according to KABC.
Irvine police detectives are asking anyone with information relating to these incidents to contact Detective Sarah Tunnicliffe at email@example.com or 949-724-7170.
