IRVINE, CA (May 23, 2013): Exhibitor and speaker applications are now available for companies, organizations and individuals looking to participate in the first-ever XPO – a clean, renewable and efficient energy exposition that will be hosted alongside the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013 this October at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California.
Solar Decathlon 2013 will be the first time the world-renowned international competition is held outside of Washington, D.C. For eight days (October 3-6 and October 10-13), Solar Decathlon 2013 and XPO will attract tens of thousands of visitors from all over California and the world to experience an event designed to empower innovative thinking and positive change – showing the world that the future of energy is NOW.
Orange County’s reputation as a center for high-tech, bio-tech, clean-tech and green-tech makes it the perfect home for the Solar Decathlon 2013 and XPO. Through fun, interactive exhibits and activities, the XPO will educate visitors about the broad spectrum of energy efficiency in home design, transportation, consumer products, food production and education.
Tremendous opportunities exist in the XPO for companies, organizations and individuals looking to showcase their products, services and thought leadership for consumers, industry stakeholders, and government officials.
Speaker Application Deadline: June 15, 2013
XPO speaker and panel presentations must be related to the clean, renewable and efficient theme of the XPO and should be educational in nature. Speaker opportunities are available during the XPO’s Powerful Ideas Symposium. The deadline to submit an application is June 15, 2013. Exhibitor Application Deadline: July 1, 2013
XPO exhibitors have the opportunity to showcase their company or organization and its product, services and ideas. Exhibitor booths are available in high traffic venues in both indoor and outdoor areas. The deadline to submit an application is July 1, 2013. The XPO is a clean, renewable and efficient energy exposition, featuring visionary and innovative companies, products and educational opportunities that will be hosted alongside the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013. The XPO will run concurrently with the Solar Decathlon 2013 from October 3-6 and 10-13 at the Orange County Great Park. About Solar Decathlon 2013
The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon is an award-winning program that challenges collegiate teams to design, build, and operate energy-efficient houses powered by the sun. These teams spend almost two years creating houses to compete in 10 contests. The winner of the competition is the team that best blends affordability, consumer appeal, and design excellence with optimal energy production and maximum efficiency.
The first Solar Decathlon was held in 2002; the competition has since occurred biennially in 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011. The next event will take place from October 3 through October 13, 2013, at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California. The competition houses will be open to visitors free of charge on eight days over two weekends.

About the Orange County Great Park
