Two hundred cellists from the Irvine Unified School District elementary music program recently participated in the district’s first “Cello Extravaganza.”
Veteran cellist Ian McKinnell of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra came to Woodbury Elementary School to conduct a workshop for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade cello students enrolled in a string orchestra at their school. The cellists performed for their parents in the largest cello symphony assembled in Orange County.
