Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) arrested a man for fraudulently using a victim’s stolen credit card. Suspect Nicholas Bryson, 20, of Irvine, was arrested on charges including forgery, false personation of another, presenting a false identification to an officer, commercial burglary, and using another’s access card.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on June 2, 2016, the occupants of an Irvine home awoke and discovered that their residence had been burglarized while they were sleeping. Among the stolen items were laptops, electronics, and debit and credit cards. The victims checked their online banking statement and discovered that one of the credit cards had recently been used at multiple locations in a shopping center at Barranca Parkway and Culver Drive. Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is seeking the public’s help identifying an outstanding suspect involved in the large-scale theft of commercial landscaping equipment. One suspect has been arrested and is identified as Francisco Acosta, 36, of Los Angeles.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on May 17, 2016, an alert Irvine officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a suspicious silver van leaving a dirt road and driving onto Irvine Boulevard. As the vehicle pulled to the curb, the driver and passenger got out and fled on foot. The officer was able to chase and quickly apprehend Acosta, the driver of the van. Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) has arrested three suspects for drug and mail-theft charges after receiving a tip of suspicious activity from an observant citizen. The suspects are identified as Biancha Martinez, 24, of Riverside, Dustin Robinson, 25, of Riverside, and Christopher Walker, 26, of Perris. Walker and Robinson are both on probation.

On the morning of April 17, 2016, the Irvine Police Department received a call from a citizen reporting a suspicious occupied vehicle parked in front of a fast food restaurant on Main Street. The caller reported possible drug activity occurring in the vehicle. Continue reading→

Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) arrested two men for robbing a woman in a parking lot and committing a series of package thefts. The suspects are identified as Raymundo Bernal and Gerardo DeLoera, both 22, of Costa Mesa.

On March 11, 2016, a package theft occurred in front of an Irvine home. The resident had a video surveillance system that captured a unique green Jeep with a blue ladder on top, and the resident provided the video to IPD. The IPD Crime Analysis Unit provided a description of the incident and vehicle to all Department officers. Continue reading→

Irvine, CA – The observation of an alert Irvine Police Department (IPD) officer led to the arrest this week of three suspects on various charges related to drug possession and a series of vehicle burglaries. The suspects are identified as Robin Ruffalo, 27, of Irvine, Alvin Xiong, 33, of Santa Ana, and Jefferson Yang, 34, of Santa Ana.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on April 10, 2016, an IPD officer was patrolling a parking lot in the area of Von Karman Avenue and Barranca Parkway. Xiong was driving a vehicle in the lot with Yang and Ruffalo as passengers. Continue reading→

Irvine, CA – Three suspects have been arrested for package theft after being observed by an attentive mail carrier. The suspects are identified as Alejandro Juarez Morales, 25, Vincente Juarez, 25, and a juvenile, all from the City of Corona. They were arrested on charges of theft, conspiracy, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2015, a diligent mail carrier with the United States Postal Service called the Irvine Police Department (IPD) to report a possible package theft in progress outside of an Irvine residence. The reporting party provided a detailed physical description of the three male suspects and the red Ford Expedition in which they fled the neighborhood. Continue reading→

Person of interest in campus thefts of electronics sought by the UCI Police

This man is a person of interest in a series of thefts of electronics from academic offices at UCI. Campus authorities are looking to identify him after various thefts were reported in September and October.

The UCI campus police department is asking for public assistance in identifying a person of interest in a series of electronic thefts from academic offices, according to the O.C. Register.

Campus police distributed footage of  a man caught on surveillance cameras who is believed to be the one responsible for stealing computers and cellphones this year during September and October.

The person of interest is seen wearing a long-sleeved lavender shirt and carrying a black backpack going from floor to floor looking into offices the same day four computers were stolen, the campus police stated in a bulletin on Monday. Continue reading→

Subject: Man Arrested For Stealing Over $300,000 in Inventory from Employer

Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department has arrested a suspect for stealing over $300,000 in high-end storage disks from his employer. Todd Ryan Deck, 37, of Yorba Linda, was arrested for felony grand theft.

At the time of the crime, Deck was an employee at Red Digital Cinema. Over the past six months, the suspect stole over 70 high-end storage disks valued at over $300,000. The disks have up to a terabyte of data and are used for motion picture-quality cameras. Deck shipped the stolen disks to an unsuspecting buyer using company mail and received payment into his personal account. Continue reading→

IRVINE, CA – Two suspects have been arrested for stealing copper wire in Irvine. Daniel Villanueva, 35, and Jose Rene Romeroocampo, 35, were arrested for grand theft, vandalism and possession of burglary tools.
At approximately 2:50 a.m. today, April 25, 2015, an Irvine Police Department officer was patrolling the area of Sand Canyon Avenue and the I-405. The officer observed Villanueva and Romeroocampo run across Sand Canyon Avenue from a parking lot toward a bike trail on the west side of the street.

The officer contacted the two suspects and determined that they were carrying wire cutters, gloves, flashlights, a screwdriver, knifes, and other burglary tools. In a subsequent search of the suspects’ vehicle, the officer located a 2-foot long piece of heavy-gauge copper wire and other burglary tools. Continue reading→

IRVINE, CA – A suspect has been arrested for stealing copper wire from light posts in Irvine. Armando Arroyo, 38, was arrested on charges of grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. yesterday, April 27, 2015, a City of Irvine landscape contractor observed two subjects on bicycles stealing copper wire from light posts along the bike path between Jeffrey Road and Sand Canyon Avenue on the south side of I-405. Continue reading→
