Aliso Viejo, Ca. (Oct. 13, 2017) – Luke William Ferguson, the 26-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two people and wounding two others, was taken into custody Friday afternoon.

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A former high school teacher and youth baseball coach was sentenced today to five years in state prison for possessing child pornography and sexually assaulting a young teen he met through a volunteer organization. Ezequiel Christopher Barragan, 50, Aliso Viejo, pleaded guilty to four felony counts of performing lewd acts on a child under the age of 14, three felony counts of lewd acts on a child between the ages of 14 and 15, and one felony count of possession of child pornography. Orange County Sheriff’s Department: DUI Enforcement Operations Planned this Weekend
Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers as part of the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy on Friday, August 19 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. in the cities of Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods and Aliso Viejo.
Over the course of the past three years, DUI collisions have claimed 21 lives and resulted in 497 injury crashes harming our friends and neighbors. In addition to the pain and suffering of those immediately affected, a DUI can impact the economy. Conservatively, a fatality has a $1.4 million impact, an injury $70,000, and a crash that only damages property averages nearly $9,000. Continue reading

Missing AR-15 Patrol Rifle
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (January 27, 2016) – On Wednesday, January 27, 2016, a deputy assigned to the Southwest Operations Division’s Aliso Viejo Station determined he was missing his AR-15 patrol rifle. The deputy set the rifle, inside its case, on the trunk of his vehicle and inadvertently drove away. Numerous resources including reserve deputies, bloodhounds and investigative personnel immediately began a search of the area in and around the station as well as retracing the streets he drove on.
On the evening of Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at approximately 7 p.m., the deputy was preparing his equipment to go in service for his assigned shift. At some point, he placed the rifle on the trunk of the patrol vehicle; however, became distracted and drove off before securing it in his vehicle. At approximately 3:15 a.m., the deputy realized the rifle was unaccounted for and an immediately search began. Continue reading

YOUTH PASTOR CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING FIVE BOYS UNDER AGE 16 AT CHURCH EVENTS
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – A youth pastor was arraigned today on charges of sexually assaulting five boys under 16 years old at church events. Brandon Ernis Lee McDade, 30, Mission Viejo, is charged with two felony counts of committing lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14, four felony counts of committing lewd acts upon a child between the ages of 14 and 15, two misdemeanor counts of child annoyance, and sentencing enhancement allegations for committing lewd acts upon multiple victims. If convicted, McDade faces a maximum sentence of 30 years to life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration. McDade is being held on $1 million bail and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Feb. 5, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. in Department H-7, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach.
At the time of the crimes, McDade was employed as a youth pastor at Grace Hills Church in Aliso Viejo and had access to children. Continue reading

Youth Pastor Arrested for Lewd Acts with a Child
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (December 10, 2015) – On Wednesday, December 9, 2015, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) investigators arrested Brandon McDade, 30, Mission Viejo, on charges related to inappropriate conduct with children. McDade was arrested after two days of investigation following the SVU being made aware of the allegations.
On Monday, December 7, 2015, Sheriff’s investigators were contacted after patrol deputies took a report of allegations against McDade while he worked as the youth pastor at Grace Hills Church in the City of Aliso Viejo. During the course of the investigation, several other victims were contacted, each indicating they had engaged in inappropriate conduct with McDade over a two year period while he was employed as the youth pastor at Grace Hills Church. There have been several alleged incidents of lewd and inappropriate conduct, several of which have occurred on the church property. Continue reading

Kristen Michelle Roush, 34, Aliso Viejo, a former eighth-grade teacher at La Paz Intermediate School, was cleared of child molestation charges Friday after she agreed to admit to a misdemeanor battery charge and to resign her teaching position, according to the O.C. Register.
Roush was arrested on Friday, October 24, 2014, by Orange County Sheriff’s investigators following a several month long investigation involving an alleged inappropriate relationship she had with a male juvenile student. Continue reading

Irvine, CA – A man has been arrested for entering a hospital dressed in scrubs with the intent to steal valuable surgical equipment. The suspect is identified as Roy Chiwing Lung, 48, of Aliso Viejo. Lung is a former medical doctor who had his medical license revoked by the California Medical Board.
At approximately 4:40 a.m. on Aug. 30, 2015, Lung entered Kaiser Hospital in Irvine wearing scrubs and a wig in an attempt to disguise himself as an employee. Once inside, the suspect stole numerous expensive surgical supplies valued at over $25,000. Continue reading
