City of Irvine offers free sandbags to residents
IRVINE, CA (Dec. 17, 2015): The City of Irvine encourages residents to prepare for El Niño conditions now. To that end, Irvine residents can pick up 10 free prefilled sandbags per household at the City’s Operations Support Facility, 6427 Oak Canyon Road, Irvine. The facility is open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday; closed weekends. Residents should check in at the office and show proof of Irvine residency before obtaining their sandbags.
In addition, the Orange County Fire Authority is offering free sand and bags at locations throughout the county. In Irvine, residents can visit Station 36, 301 E.
