Note: Choi has done a fantastic job leading the Irvine City Council majority. The OC Register endorsed Choi again this year, writing that “Under Mr. Choi’s leadership, the council has done much to further long-awaited progress in the city. Why would Mimi Walters attack a Veteran right before Memorial Day weekend?

Can you believe it? Mimi Walters has done it again. But this time she has attacked a decorated Veteran’s military service right before Memorial Day Weekend. Who the heck is advising her?

OC GOP Central Committee member Aaron Bartlett recognizes the danger in what Walters is doing. He weighed in on this latest attack with this comment, “There’s been…blowback against Mimi for these negative mailers she has done against Greg dealing with his military service.”

Walters, in case you don’t know, is a tax-raising carpetbagger running for the 45th Congressional District. As a State Legislator Walters voted to increase the odious California Car Tax. When she did that she broke her pledge not to increase our taxes! It is a black mark on her record she simply cannot escape. Continue reading→

Senator Walters to host Prescription Drug Abuse Town Hall in Irvine on 6/6

In order to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse, Senator Walters will hold two town hall meetings on the subject in June. More people die from abusing over–the–counter and prescription drugs than from heroin, cocaine and ecstasy combined. The town halls will feature local experts from the law enforcement and medical communities who know first–hand how devastating this problem is to Orange County communities no matter what economic strata. Parents, community leaders, and others interested in educating themselves on this pervasive problem and searching for solutions are encouraged to attend these free events.

According to the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), prescription drug abuse has reached epidemic levels across the country. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also classifies prescription drug abuse as an epidemic and the nation’s fastest–growing drug problem. Orange County has more drug rehab centers per capita than any other county in the country. Continue reading→
