Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) has arrested a man for committing a hate crime against an African American high school student. Christopher Qu, 24, of Irvine, was arrested on charges of hate crime, felony assault and assault with a deadly weapon.

At approximately 12:50 p.m. today, March 30, 2016, a 16-year-old African American student was waiting in front of Irvine High School for his brother to pick him up. The school is on spring break and not in session, but the student was on campus for sports practice. Continue reading→
