Imran Saaduddin Ahmad,a 39-year-old Irvine man, was charged Thursday with setting several fires in Irvine this week, according to the O.C. Register.
Ahmad was charged with numerous felonies including three counts of arson of an inhabited structure and single counts each of arson of a forest and use of a destructive device with the intent to injure. Ahmad is also facing sentencing enhancements for arson with the use of an accelerant.
Four properties were set fire including a grass fire but no major damage was caused by these arsons, according to the OCDA.
All of the fires were set at about 7 a.m. on Monday within a 3-mile radius in Irvine.
Ahmad is currently being held in Orange County Central Men’s Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department inmate information, according to KTLA.
Ahmad pleaded not guilty on Thursday and he was ordered to return to court July 13.
