Irvine Police Arrest Two Men for Residential Burglary
Irvine, CA – The Irvine Police Department has arrested two men for burglary, theft, and narcotics related crimes. Omar Elnaggar, 21, of Irvine, and Mohamad Elmasri, 19, of Irvine were taken into custody following a traffic stop.
On July 30, 2016, at approximately 3:00 AM, an Irvine police officer was patrolling the area of Irvine Blvd. and Jeffrey when he observed a suspicious vehicle traveling southbound on Jeffrey. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with Elnaggar and Elmasri, who were the driver and passenger, respectively. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and prescription drugs. Also located within the vehicle were credit cards and membership cards in the names of other Irvine residents, as well as multiple iPhones and iPads. Irvine Police ultimately determined that the property recovered from the vehicle was stolen from inside the victims’ home and vehicle that night.
Elnaggar was arrested for residential burglary, theft from a vehicle, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Elmasri was arrested for residential burglary, theft from a vehicle, receiving stolen property and possession of marijuana. Both were booked at Orange County Jail and later released from custody after posting bond.
