Woodbridge High School Graduate Awarded National Vision Scholarship
IRVINE, Calif. (July 1, 2014) – Woodbridge High School graduate Brittany Lee was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from National Vision, Inc. as part of the company’s college scholarship program. Lee is the daughter of National Vision, Inc. employee Dr. Curtis Lee and Sandra Lin-Lee, residents of Irvine, Calif. The award is renewable up to three years for a total scholarship of $10,000.
The National Vision, Inc. College Scholarship Program is open to children whose parents are employed by National Vision at one of its more than 750 retail locations, three labs or Retail Support Center. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll for the first time at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Established in 2006, the National Vision, Inc. College Scholarship Program has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to 25 students.
Awards are selected based on past academic performance and future potential, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal from Scholarship America, the nation’s leading scholarship program administrator.

While at Woodbridge High School, Lee played the piano as well as played and coached basketball and was involved in the Orange County Buddhist Church Jr. Youth Association. Lee’s academic performance was recognized through several awards including being named an AP Scholar and a California Scholarship Federation Seal Bearer. As a member of Assisteens of Irvine, Lee was an active volunteer in her community while learning leadership and organizational skills. Lee will attend the University of California, Irvine where she plans to major in psychology.
