A free community forum to help individuals and families understand and navigate California’s health insurance marketplace
IRVINE, CA (January 6, 2014): The City of Irvine, in partnership with Catholic Charities of Orange County and the Children’s Health Initiative of Orange County, will host a free community forum on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Wednesday, January 29 from 6-7:15 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center.
The Forum is designed to educate individuals and families about the recent changes in healthcare legislation and provide an overview of how to find and enroll in health insurance through the state’s Covered California program. Certified Enrollment Counselors will be available to answer questions.
Under the new health law, most Californians will be required to have health coverage starting in January 2014 or pay a fee. Open enrollment through the state’s health insurance marketplace is ongoing through March 31, 2014.
