Assistance League of Irvine has announced that its annual “Operation School Bell” program will kick off the week of Aug. 12 for year-round schools and the week of Sept. 2 for schools on the traditional calendar.
Operation School Bell is a free, confidential community service that offers school clothes and other necessities to the children of low-income families — specifically Irvine students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The program has served more than 7,000 students in IUSD since it started back in 1990.
