IRVINE, CA – The Irvine Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred this morning at 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Patriot Way, adjacent to Beckman High School. A Kia sedan, being driven by an adult male struck an adult female pedestrian, Oanh Tran, 47, of Costa Mesa, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Both parties are Irvine residents; neither party is related to the school.
The Irvine Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is currently investigating the cause and details surrounding the collision. The Orange County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of death.
Bryan Avenue remains closed between Culver Drive and El Camino Real North for the duration of the Investigation.
