Suspect Arrested in Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision
SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – (August 26, 2014) – On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, Orange County Sheriff’s Department Traffic Bureau investigators arrested Kelly Michelle Wolfe, 46, Capistrano Beach, following an investigation of a fatal traffic collision that occurred on July 4, 2013.
Wolfe was the driver of a vehicle that collided with victim, Marthann Demchuk, 76, Monrovia, and her 13 year old grandson on Camino Capistrano, north of San Clemente. Wolfe struck Demchuk and her grandson as they crossed Camino Capistrano on foot. Demchuk was pronounced deceased at the scene and her grandson was injured and treated at a local hospital. Wolfe fled the scene and was later detained outside her residence in Capistrano Beach. An investigation immediately ensued; however, Wolfe was not arrested the day of the collision.
Wolfe was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on charges of second degree murder, felony hit and run and driving under the influence. She is being held on $1 million bail and is expected to be arraigned on Thursday, August 28, 2014.
